VSM – German Shipbuilding and Ocean Industries Association
The German Shipbuilding and Ocean Industries Association (VSM) represents the interests of the German maritime industry, which employs around 200,000 specialists in the production and maintenance of maritime equipment. As the core of the German maritime economy, the VSM encompasses about 700 members, including shipyards, manufacturers, service providers, and research and educational institutions. The VSM offers extensive services and represents the interests of its members at both national and international levels. As a longstanding member of this association, Becker Marine Systems actively participates in the promotion and development of the maritime industry.
VDMA – Mechanical Engineering Industry Association
The Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) is the largest network organisation of mechanical engineering in Germany and Europe, with 3,600 members, and serves as a significant voice for the industry. The VDMA supports its members with a comprehensive organisational structure and the expertise of over 500 employees worldwide to foster informed business decisions. As a longstanding member, Becker Marine Systems is actively engaged in the working group "VDMA Marine Equipment and Systems" and participates in industry-wide initiatives and exchanges within the VDMA.
GeMaX – German Maritime Export Initiative
The German Maritime Export Initiative ("powered by VSM") is a coalition of leading German suppliers of ship equipment and the KfW IPEX-Bank. It provides a platform for maritime equipment and related project financing to meet the challenges of shipbuilding, retrofitting, conversion, or offshore projects that require not only convincing concepts and designs but also solid, long-term, and market-oriented financing solutions. Through its membership in GeMaX, Becker Marine Systems benefits from combined expertise in financing and equipment, thereby strengthening its competitive position in global markets.
STG – German Society for Maritime Technology
The German Society for Maritime Technology promotes technical and scientific progress in ship technology and operation. As a non-profit organisation, it significantly contributes to the economic efficiency and competitiveness of the industry through the dissemination and exchange of research and development results. The membership in the STG enables Becker Marine Systems to actively participate in technical developments and challenges in the shipping industry and to help shape innovative solutions.
BCCG – British Chamber of Commerce in Germany
The British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) is a privately funded business network with around 600 members and 5,000 contacts active in business and bilateral trade. As one of the strongest international network organisations in Germany and the largest German-British business association in Europe, the BCCG promotes mutual understanding and economic relations between Germany and the United Kingdom. Becker Marine Systems aims to strengthen economic relations with the United Kingdom and thus bilateral trade opportunities post-Brexit through its membership.
IWSA – International Windship Association
The International Windship Association (IWSA) advocates for the use of wind propulsion in commercial shipping worldwide. It brings together all stakeholders in the wind-ship industry to influence industry and government attitudes and policies. Its mission is to promote the use of wind power in commercial shipping to reduce fuel consumption and emissions that contribute to climate change. As a member of the IWSA, Becker Marine Systems actively contributes to the development and promotion of environmentally friendly technologies, thereby advancing its sustainability goals.
